Mushroom Soup
1/2-3/4 lb of Mushrooms chopped(your choice)
2 cups Whole Milk and 2 cups water
1 Small Onion (diced)
3 tblsp Butter
2 tblsp Flour
1/2 cup Sour Cream
1/2 tsp Salt
1/4 tsp Pepper
1/8 tsp Allspice
1 Stalk Celery(diced)
1 Carrot(diced)
Melt butter and flour in large pot add onion,celery,carrot,spices and mushrooms cook to a sweat(not you) but the vegetables.
Add the rest of ingredients slowly and bring to very soft boil.
Sour cream can be added during cooking or at the end when served.
BANANA BREAD
Cream together:
1/2 cup softened salted butter (1 stick)
3/4 cup sugar or less
2 eggs at room temperature
Sift and combine:
1-1/2 cup unbleached flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
Beat eggs first then add all ingredients together and blend
Combine together:
2 ripe bananas mashed
1 Cup sour cream or Greek Yogurt
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. pure vanilla
Add to the above mixture, and blend.
Add 1/2 cup or 1 full cup chopped walnuts (or black walnuts if you can find) and blend
Pour into greased and floured 9 x 5 x 3 pan
Bake in preheated oven 350 degrees for 1 hour, Test for doneness with toothpick
Turn out on rack and let cool. Note: If it seems over moist, Let sit
